Children's Nature Playscape is a nonprofit organization that stewards a nature-inspired play area centrally located in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan. We help Kalamazoo children and families explore, grow, and restore themselves, their family connection, and the natural world around them. By transforming a vacant downtown lot into a fully accessible natural play area, Children’s Nature Playscape has intentionally uprooted the barriers that intentionally marginalized communities face when trying to access quality and safe early educational opportunities as well as green spaces that can increase the quality of their overall health. We are a team of educators, counselors, scientists, and parents who believe that every child should have the freedom and tools necessary to explore the world and relationships that surround them, and that in doing so they will discover that people from all walks of life, including them, belong in our world, natural or otherwise.
